Days of Youth Empty
PostSubject: Days of Youth   Days of Youth Icon_minitimeWed Feb 01, 2012 5:34 am

He would have been a sapling at that stage, not beyond the age of about 10 when he was shipped off to that small island by the mutant nameks born under the Demon King. Gripped on either side by his more disgusting and warped brothers and flown through the air thanks to their efforts he remembered gazing down at the bright glistening ocean below and standing amazed at it's beauty, in the forest there had only been trickles and streams. Sure an odd waterfall or two but nothing astounding, nothing like this. The bright blues and aquas caused his eyes to shine as he watched the sea life slithering about beneath the waves "Look at the weakling! Obsessed with the bloody ocean again, eh Ocarina?" a flying brethren stated much to the chargrim of the educated namekian "Those silver creature, are they...hostile?" he commented causing his brothers to moan "There he goes with that bloody cowardice! Alright Pyano, time to throw the bastard." the other said hurling the young Namekian in the air and causing him to fall deep beneath the waves. He wasn't aware on how to swim, he was never taught and so he began to flail. Waving and stammering as he plunged deeper into the water. He felt his lungs fill with each dive below that caused his body to convulse, he didn't know what to do or rather how to react to this sudden disturbance. That's when he felt it on his back, a hard surface and as he turned to look below he spied a large grizzled eye belonging to one of the sea life. He could feel his life draining, all was becoming black, darkness surrounded the youth and as he sunk further and further below he passed out not sure of what was to come.

Sand, sand was the first feeling he had beneath his hands, was he dead? Had the other world taken him? He couldn't be sure. Trying to open his eyes he saw above him a shining light "P-Piccolo?" he whispered but was met with a chuckle "Oh-hoo-hey, Hey there little fella. You had a nasty fall there, huh? Good thing Turtle was around." the man who was slowly coming in to view stated, large shades guarding his eyes and a bald head countered with a lengthy beard. Trying to get to his feet the youthful Namekian began to lift himself up slowly before collapsing yet again "Whoah now! Don't try to get up there, beansprout!" the old man stated causing the namekian to utter his next words "I...I'm looking for Roshi...I was told it was time to train under the way of the turtle..." he muttered causing the old man to perk up "Oh! You're the one from Piccolo's clan huh? Yes, we're expecting quite a few participants today...Not sure when they'll arrive..." the old man pondered stroking his beard as the Namekian finally got to his feet "So, what's your name little sprout?" he asked with a delightful smile "Ocarina of the Demon Clan." The demonic namekian stated taking a low bow to the elder "I am honored to meet you, Roshi."

Days of Youth Empty
PostSubject: Re: Days of Youth   Days of Youth Icon_minitimeThu Feb 02, 2012 10:54 am

((OOC: Sorry for the wait! Hope this was worth it))

Kye had heard of the martial arts guru living on an island one could only find if they knew *exactly* where it was, or some other way of locating the inhabitants thereon, and had instantly set out for it. To be honest, he didn't know how he was going to get there - no map had the location of the place, and no one seemed to know where it was. It was either that, or they wouldn't tell him. The boy could only search out those that seemed knowledgeable on the subject, those that deemed themselves masters of the arts martial, themselves. Of course, a boy of 9 could hardly convince men who had studied all their lives to disclose the location of the most coveted place of hand to hand mastery without proving himself to these supposed ‘masters’, himself. His blood was hot and he was willing to prove anything to anyone – that he was stronger, faster, and tougher, and would show you just how much *right now*. Such it was that he ventured away from the protective shell of his home, away from his sister. They’d been living together for a few years, now, and he’d managed enough money to allow himself a little vacation. Even at such a young age, he could do an amazing amount of work, and was often more valuable than three or four men on a jobsite – this afforded him the ability to work whenever he liked. The boy chose this time as the best for his martial arts exploration, and set out early in the Spring, advised against beginning in the cold and returning before the world turned bleak again and he’d be struggling against the snow. His first destination was the Temple of Five Mountains, hidden away in the high, cold places of the world.

As the tailed child arrived at the small town at the base of the mountain range, he grinned at the inhabitants there. Already he’d traveled hundreds of miles, away from the temperate climes he’d lived most of his life in and into the unknown. They looked at each other, bewildered, until one of the many hearty inhabitants bent down to the young Saiyan and asked, confused, ”What are you doing here, boy? Where are your parents?” Kye paused a moment, wondering exactly what he should say. Should he answer? Should he admit the truth? Instead, Kye simply answered the first, and ignored the second.

”I’m here to climb the Middle Mountain, to find the Temple of Five Mountains hidden there!” he exclaimed, grinning even wider and suddenly flipping his small frame into a back hand-spring. He landed with a tumble and a bent kung fu stance, fingers bent like claws. The men looked at each other for a moment, then laughed, patting each other on the shoulder and chuckling, as though he’d just told a joke. Kye’s eye twitched in irritation as they shared their mirth, feeling a tight ball of anger begin in the pit of his stomach. While his father had always taught him to hold in his feelings, and to make certain he didn’t lose his temper with the inhabitants of the planet known as humans, he felt it irrevocably insulting to be laughed at while he shared his feelings, goals, and desires with strangers hundreds of miles from home.

”Go on home, ki-“ the nearest began when Kye suddenly launched forward, the ball of Saiyan child slamming into his diaphragm and causing him to widen his eyes, folding nearly in half and flying away, slamming against a building some twenty feet away and slumping. The laughing stopped immediately, and most of the smiling faces turned to frowns, though some looked as though they were fearful of the tailed kid. He turned to the others, his light blue aura flaring up around him as even the angry faces turned to fear. As they brought their hands up, Kye launched forward, his small body sending dozens of punches and kicks at the four remaining large men – everyone else had run inside as he showed his prowess against the first. They were no novices to battle, themselves – the daring men on the fringe of the mountains lived there only because they were tough enough to protect themselves and their homes. Still, they’d never encountered anything quite so furious as the young Saiyan unleashed upon them. They worked well together, protecting each other as he punched and lashed out at their heads and upper torso, floating with the fury of his strikes. With every passing second, he gained more momentum, until the men were only barely able to defend against his small fists and feet, and finally succumbed, each being driven to the ground, unable to stand any more. As his fit of rage ended, Kye floated back down to the ground, looking around at the unconscious bodies he’d unleashed his might upon. ”Ah…..whoops. Guess I got carried away. Sorry!” he cried, running off toward the mountain range itself, his small footsteps carrying him away with quickly pumping legs.

The climb was actually much harsher than Kye had initially thought it would be. Though it were a relatively mild part of the year, the wind and snow up in the high places of the Spine of the World were brutal. Shivering, he put hand over hand relentlessly, forcing himself to climb further into the mountains as the frost built up on his clothing, his body shaking, shivering. More and more he disappeared into the rocky, snowy, desolate world that was the mountains of the North, wet and cold and freezing. He gritted his teeth to stop the chattering, and continued, forcing himself to prove anyone who had ever doubted him wrong – he’d definitely find the Temple, and the monks there would direct him to the Turtle Hermit, the one true martial arts master on the planet. He’d learn from the man there, who was no doubt a towering beast of a man, someone who had seen countless battles and had destroyed armies. At least, that was what all the stories said. In truth he didn’t know what he’d meet at the end of his journey, but he would definitely make it to his goal, that much was certain! With that thought in mind, he redoubled his efforts, returning his slow pace to the original quick one, scrambling up the mountains without hint of regret or turning back.

As he finally crested the summit of the mountain, Kye looked up, grinning at his task finally finished. It was the highest mountain in the group of five in the center of the mountain range – each of the five, collectively, were known as Buddha’s Hand, as the mountains were arranged in such a manner as to look as though it were a hand, palm-up, reaching up from the Earth. Wiping the sweat that was freezing to his brow away, the boy stepped through the misty clouds to look up at what he assumed would be the Temple of Five Mountains, where renowned monks and martial artists came to find even greater power. Instead, he found before him, intricately carved into the very mountain’s face itself…..stairs. Stairs! He hissed and stomped his foot, crossing his arms and glaring at the obstacles. There was more climbing?! He was at the summit! Realizing that he had little more to do, he sighed and began trudging up the stairs, looking down at their rather well-carved and designed surfaces as he passed them by. It seemed like an eternity, as well – more steps than he could count went up the side of this mountain, and he’d already climbed well above the lower cloud layer. The air was thin, and he gasped for breath as he continued onward, unwilling to stop for even a few moments. He vaguely remembered waking up on the stairs at one point, having apparently dropped, exhausted, when he could no longer continue. Once he was conscious once more, however, the boy of nine continued, clawing his way up the stairs when he had to. His legs continued moving through sheer will alone, and his body responded mechanically to his spirit’s will. He grunted with the effort of each movement, almost a constant growl as he moved ever forward, ever onward. Finally, with blurred vision born of exhaustion and lack of oxygen, Kye remembered, fuzzily, ascending the last step, and watching a few men under a pagoda that looked as though it were made of bright gold. Then, as he began the next step toward them, he fell forward, unconscious.

When next he woke, a smiling old man watched over him, offering something that smelled wonderful and filled the air with steam. It was a broth of some kind, but where he found something to flavor it up here he’d never know. Instead of complaining about the lack of insight into this clearly overlooked part of the story, he quickly grabbed the bowl and gulped down the wonderful, hot liquid. Within just a few tastes, he immediately began to feel better. The man next to him explained. ”There is a certain root that grows only in the highest of places, young man – and it is good that it does, or that soup wouldn’t have had the life-saving properties it does now, and you’d be quite the mess! Though I’m surprised you made it all the way up here by yourself…did you come with others? Did your father or mother come this way? Do we need to go and help them?” he asked, genuinely concerned. Kye shook his head, smiling for the first time in days – possibly weeks, he didn’t know.

”Nope! I came up here by myself to learn your secrets, and find out where the Master of Masters lives….that island that no one can reach!” he cried jumping up out of bed. With that soup in his system, it felt like all his aches and tiredness had gone away, and he had the boundless energy of Saiyan youth once more. He grinned at the old man, who looked pleasantly surprised. ”So! What kind of test is there?! Do I have to face you in combat? All of you? One at a time?! All at once?!?!” he exclaimed, bending low in his fighting pose. The old man beamed, but did not move at all, shrugging a little as he watched the boy.

”Oh, I don’t think you’re quite ready for that, yet, my boy, but we’ll get you there. To have made it this far, you must have a great potential…or a real lack of survival instinct, hahah!” the man cried, laughing. Kye’s smile grew a bit more dim – did they all underestimate him? He decided he’d take their test now, and jumped forward, fist cocked to punch the man in the face. Without changing his expression, the old man calmly lifted the chopstick from the bowl of rice he’d been eating, flipping it up as he braced it with his middle finger and thumb. All of the momentum from Kye’s strike stopped in that flexible piece of wood, barely cracking it. The young Saiyan was dumbstruck. He dropped down to the floor, stepping back a little as the man inspected his broken chopstick. ”Put a little more power into that than I thought! Well…we’ll get you up to proper fighting form soon, eh? For now, rest….” the mysterious master said, standing and beginning to move along. ”My name is Gue Gui, and you are my guest for as long as you wish. Be warned – I’ll not be giving you the location of my better’s school until you defeat me, and prove yourself worthy of being his student!” With that, he stepped away, out of the little room, leaving Kye alone with his nine-year old thoughts. While many would think that, at this point, the kid would be throwing quite the tantrum, it was actually quite the opposite – Kye sat on the bed in quiet contemplation, staring at the cracked chopstick. Chin in hand, he marveled at the thin piece of wood, wondering how the old man could have possibly blocked his strike with it. He suddenly snatched it, and with a quick, sure movement snapped it in two. There was nothing special about the stick itself….

The next day, Kye awakened and stepped outside into the thin mountain air, looking out over the splendid view of the world below. The clouds crept along a few hundred meters below, and where they opened up he could see beautiful mountain passes and flower-filled valleys. It was, in a single word, magnificent. As he admired the once-in-lifetime, breathtaking panorama, he heard a few steps from behind him. He turned, finding the same wizened face, eyes half-closed with age and white hair only a few wisps atop the mostly bald head. Gue Gui, of course, was smiling once more as he perceived the young boy with a tail. ”Master Gue….” Kye said, voice a little wispy in the thin air. The old man nodded forward in a slight bow, and Kye did the same, bowing just barely lower than the human. And so it was that Kye’s training by a true master began.

The wind whistled high in the mountains that day as Kye, garbed in the traditional Gi of the monks of the Temple of Five Mountains, stared down Gue Gui. Each had a hand outstretched in a narrow guard, fingers curled into the form of talons. The Eagle style of the mountain had done wonders for Kye in the last several months, and he’d only stunned the monk with his rapid growth. It had come to this – Kye wanted to know the location of the Kame House, a name he’d garnered during his time there, and he was willing to fight in order to gain the information. Gue had cheerily agreed that he would give Kye the secret to finding the famous Master’s house if he could defeat the monk, but had added dangerously that if this was to be the official challenge, that if Kye lost he could not remain on the mountain. With these thoughts running through the boy’s mind, he slid forward cautiously, not breaking his contact with the ground with either foot. The monk had beaten him countless times in training, and it was a bit of a psychological blow to find him still smiling calmly across that stone expanse between them. The area was marked off with a box, and their forms were the only two inside it. Kye’s now much more powerful lungs breathed in calmly, taking in a deep breath. As he did so, he felt the Ki in the air respond to his call, his own Ki rising to the surface. That same deep ocean within him that he’d always felt stirred, beginning to make waves with the new tide he’d created within himself. The boy slid forward a little more, still gathering his power as waves crashed against an imaginary beach within him, smashing against the rocks there and feeling them erode with each rolling, tumbling wave. The tide slowly came in, filling up the area inside him that he’d designated as his Ki pool, and suddenly, with the air filling with that same sky blue light that signified he had accessed his power, he blurred forward. The monk met him handily, and as Kye began with a quick two right jabs and a left-hand chop, Gue Gui moved fluidly in, trapping the jabbing hand in across the boy’s body and making the chop all but useless. He responded with his own sweeping leg movement, stepping in and attempting to drop Kye off his feet. The agile monkey boy jumped up, turning a somersault over the monk. Gue’s skills had been honed by years of training and actual hand-to-hand combat, however, and he was not fazed by the sudden movement, his claw-fingered hand reaching up to strike at Kye as he flipped over the old man.

The stiff strike hit Kye squarely in the diaphragm, and he cringed as he made the landing, slipping back to defend himself. The hit was solid, and he had yet to even damage the man. With a sudden flare of his aura, Kye went on the attack again, this time moving even quicker in order to overwhelm the more experienced martial artist. His brutal speed and strength was a surprise, but nothing that the monk seemed he couldn’t handle, slapping away the boy’s punches and blocking his kicks as Kye pushed Gue back, needing to move toward the edge of the ring to keep up with the movements. Gue’s fast, powerful blocks and traps kept Kye at the top of his fighting prowess, not slowing down. Suddenly, Kye was turning head down, his arm leading him toward the ground. Just like that, Gue had snatched his wrist and turned him down, away from the sky and toward the rock below. It was too late, he couldn’t stop himself. The only thing that the boy could do was bring his free arm up, blocking his vulnerable head and causing him to soften the impact on the mountain just a bit. It wasn’t much, but as Gue released him and circled, his rhythm like that of a much younger man, Kye was recovering from the bit of grappling, wincing as he stood and rubbing his shoulder. Gue clearly had the upper hand, but Kye was far from done. Fists clenched, he could feel his fingernails digging into his palms, creating bloody crescents in his hands as he launched himself forward once more, a kick aimed at Gue’s ribs. ”Too straightforward…” his teacher chided as he easily brought his arm into the way, blocking the kick. Kye continued forward, however, not seeming hesitant in the least to attack as he brought his fist up and fired a punch at Gue’s jaw. He was small, and too close – Kye grinned with anticipation as Gue took the hit directly in the face, stumbling him back. Kye grew in momentum from there, spinning quickly to drive his heel into the monk’s sternum. Gue took this hit, too, stumbling back a little further. Kye was not about to let his momentum be interrupted, either, his fists flying in a quick combination of left, right, left.

Each one hit Gue in the stomach, blowing the air from his lungs and causing him to gasp in the thin air. He did not, however, go down, finding his balance and lashing out with a roundhouse to drive Kye away. ”Good, good….much better,” he commented, even has he brought his left hand back. Kye’s eyes widened as he realized what was happening – the monk was charging a Ki technique! The boy knew of those dangerous attacks, and in fact knew one of his own – but he was told it could cause way too much destruction to use unless it were the most dire of situations! The area seemed to grow dark as Gue’s open palm flashed with yellow light, somehow seeming much brighter than even the cloudless mid-day sky high upon the mountain. Kye set himself – he’d been taught how to defend against the Kiai, and if this technique required a charge time, he’d probably have to put some effort indeed into deflecting it. He leaned his weight forward, tossing his hands out as though passing a ball. It was a symbolic movement, one that would clear him of imbalance so that he could properly harmonize the Ki about to try and disrupt his natural flow and harm him. As Gue leaned back a little farther, Kye set himself – he wouldn’t lose. He had come too far, and had trained too hard to actually give it all up and go home, now. He didn’t really have much time left – soon the winter would be upon them and he’d be lost up here in these mountains without the kindness and hospitality of Gue. The ball of Ki was suddenly let loose, growing three times as large as it traveled through the air toward Kye. The boy’s tail twitched behind him as he braced both hands outward, sending his own Ki out to slow the momentum and catch the Kiai. He did so, but barely slowed the powerful strike. It slid his small form backward, dirt kicking up in a trail ahead of him as he was pushed backward. The Ki slowly shrunk in form as its momentum and destructive power played out, sending Kye to the edge of the arena as he grit his teeth and closed his eyes tight.

The ball of Ki disappeared completely as Kye opened first his left eye, then his right. His palms were smoking, but he received no other damage, it seemed, as he surveyed himself. Then, his eyes shot wide open as he spied Gue, flying directly for him and with fist held back. As Gue swung, Kye barely managed to move his small, maneuverable body forward into a roll underneath the blow, turning as he tumbled along the rock floor and finding his feet once more, somersaulting up to them and landing in his fighting stance. Gue turned, and as he did he fired another two blasts of Ki at Kye, who responded in turn, his bluish Ki making a sound something like distorting, twisting metal as he formed them, sending each in at his opponent’s attacks. They collided in the middle of the ring with a moderate explosion, each cancelling the other as Kye leaped in just after them, hoping to take Gue by surprise. The monk apparently had the same idea, as they met in the middle, Kye floating off the ground as he and his Sifu each caught the other’s fist. They grunted as each tried to overpower the other, Gue believing he could defeat the boy in sheer power and Kye’s overwhelming determination causing him to not give up, either. They struggled there for a few moments before Kye grinned suddenly, and a blue light suddenly flared in the hand he held Gue’s fist in. The monk’s eyes widened as he realized that Kye was about to fire a Kiai blast directly into Gue’s hand. It connected with a sudden burning of skin, and both combatants fell back. Kye had also taken a bit of damage from the risky maneuver, but it had paid off well, as Gue was now holding his left fist cradled in his right hand, grimacing with pain. The boy paused, letting the older man recover as he, too, calculated his next move in the fight. Suddenly, he realized the air was seeming to grow dark again as Gue had brought both hands back a little, that shining yellow light suddenly flaring in the middle of them. There’d be no dodging this, not without stepping out of the bounds – which was a disqualifying offense that would have him packing down the mountain in no time. Instead, he would have to use the only technique he knew that was powerful enough to stop the overwhelming wave of power. He brought his own hands back, curled fingers inward toward each other. His aura faded as he pumped Ki into the technique, a light purple glow beginning to surround the area as he gritted his teeth. Both charged their attacks, the yellow light mixing with the fuchsia between them. ”Hah!” was all that the monk exclaimed as he let his technique loose, a brilliant beam of shimmering golden yellow. Kye responded with his own, ”Galick Gun!” as he shot his own technique forward, the purple and red beam slamming into the golden one and stopping it dead in its tracks.

This was it – everything came down to this battle of Ki. Whose Ki was stronger? Soon they would find out, as the beams clashed, their energies colliding and each fighting for dominance. Kye could feel his Ki slowly draining into the technique as he willed it to push forward, wondering of Gue was having the same issue – he couldn’t see the man over the intense light that shone from both of them. He just kept drawing more and more from that vast sea of Ki within him, hoping that it would funnel into enough energy to stop the man, to end the contest and show himself as the winner. He couldn’t stand walking away from this place in defeat – he wouldn’t stand for it! With a primal cry of determination, he took a single step forward. The technique bled its aura over Kye, encasing him in purple light as he pushed, and pushed, and pushed again. The yellow beam slowly began to become overwhelmed as Kye shoved his technique through with brute force, the purple Galick Gun beginning to slam through the middle of it. It sheared straight through, gaining momentum as overwhelmed Gue’s technique. Finally, with a last burst of energy, the Saiyan boy’s aura flared and the beam shot through, slamming Gue directly in the chest. Kye, however, hadn’t truly wanted to hurt the man, so as he flew back, out of bounds, the young boy leaped forward, catching him slightly and grasping him, letting him down gently. The old monk opened his eyes, looking up at Kye with a dazed expression. ”What an intense Ki….I’ll tell you what you need to know, young man…”

As the boy landed on the small island, he looked up and over to the green boy a little further away, talking to an old man. ”Is this where I find the Kame House?” he asked innocently, grinning away at the pair.

PostSubject: Re: Days of Youth   Days of Youth Icon_minitimeThu Feb 02, 2012 3:58 pm

(Feel free to control Roshi too dude! Very Happy
No worries about the wait, the read made it worth it.
Sorry about the length on this one, I'm just quite tired and not sure where to go with this right now.)

He quickly turned his gaze to the human with a raised eyebrow, his antennae twitching, his eyes widening as he looked upon the youth. Was he a bandit like in the forest? Surely not but the youthful namekian was used to hearing of such atrocities by his mutant brethren. Something churned within his stomach as he tilted his head away from the boy, folding his arms as a miniture red cape flowed in the wind. The old hermit decided to take his time to rub his bald head "Jeez, they're coming in by the bucket load, can't an old guy catch a break?" he murmured before slowly making his way inbetween the two youth "Yes, yes, you found me. The great Turtle hermit of Kame House. So what brings you youth here, hm?" the ancient pondered as he eyed the small lads. The Namekian youth perked up giving a salute "I am here to undergo the rite of passage of the demon clan! To undergo the training of the turtle hermit!"

Kye let his tail move side to side excitedly as the Turtle Hermit revealed his identity, the boy crouching a little and clenching his fists eagerly. The old Hermit chuckled a little, waving at each of them as they each seemed to be excited in their own way. The young Saiyan answered next, waiting his turn - but only barely. "I want to be trained by the world's greatest Martial Arts master! I've done a lot to get this far...!" he cried, nearly shaking with his pent-up energy. While he'd had to travel far and wide to finally make it, Kye was finding renewed strength at the reaching of his goal. The Hermit laughed at that, looking at both of them.

"Two students, eh? Well, I can't say it's never happened, but just in case, let's see what you can do, hm? Go ahead....a little sparring match to get things under way while we wait for any late arrivals," the stoop-backed old man said, leaning down on his cane and adjusting his sunglasses. Kye turned to the strange green boy, cocking his head slightly and then moving into a fighting stance, fists curled into little balls as he snapped into the proper form.

"Hey! I'm Kye, nice to meet ya! Are you from this planet?" he asked, his blunt question causing the old Hermit to smack his palm against his face. The boy, however, simply looked at the green kid with eager eyes. Having come from another planet, himself, he didn't see the big deal.

Days of Youth Empty
PostSubject: Re: Days of Youth   Days of Youth Icon_minitimeFri Feb 03, 2012 3:36 pm

A tail, was this child a demon perchance? There was no true way of knowing but when it came down to it was quite unlikely that he was. He would need to be a hybrid, a rarity in the demonic community so it seemed though Ocarina's gut told him that in the years to come it was more than likely that hybrids would begin to blossom whether it be from Miss Mary Demon or Mrs Sue Saiyan it was an expected occurance that Ocarina seemed to predict. He began to cock his head at the notion of the boys energy, it was simply astounding. He was as if the polar opposite of the Ocarina, a hero, somebody people could get behind. Had he decided to take on this journey alone? That would take some astounding faith. It was but a motion for the demon clan to undergo similar training of their ancestor but to seek out Roshi alone was remarkable. What strength did he hold? Ocarina was hoping not to find out anytime soon.

His ear began to twitch as the hermit mentioned that the two would spar! A chill fell over the namekians neck, was it time for the bell to toll already? If so he would bare it with a strong face and a stone ward reserve. Turning slowly to the youth his eyes glazed over the youth taking detail of each of his attributes, it was hard to miss his aura of courage and power. It was intense, incomparable to anything he had felt before and thus as his red cape flew in the wind the Namekian youth began to count his blessings supposing he may reach the other world a little too soon. Walking slowly up to the saiyan child he placed a fist against a straightened hand bowing low before raising up "Indeed. Although my brothers have stated my appearance is that of an atrocious abomination, I am told I resemble that of our life givers over a demon or human so I can understand the confusion." Ocarina calmly spoke extending his hand revealing the odd coloration and pink circles upon his arm "I will look forward to this battle. My name is Ocarina of the Demon Clan, it is a pleasure to meet you.." Ocarina proceeded to smile, or rather attempt, being raised by demonic namekians who were obsessed with their 'father's campaign' whilst never interacting with a human left the green fellow with something that looked as if he was showing his teeth to a dentist or the like.

Knowing it was as good a time as any he leaped back assuming the boy would accept the invitation and respond accordingly and thus he began to stretch, grabbing his shoulder and rolling his neck as he began to imagine a beating drum in his head. The drum grew louder and louder until it became a backing base line for the fight that was soon to come. Gripping his wrist he closed his eyes as tightly as he could trying to follow the baseline, the drumming over and over began to guide him as he then proceeded listen for the movements of his opponent. "Good luck." Ocarina stated with a chirp his eyes still completely shut relying purely on his ears for the moment.

Kye nodded as Ocarina explained his unique condition. Was....was that a smile, or was he showing his teeth? Unsure of exactly how to take it, the young Saiyan decided to err on the side of 'He's being nice'. Tail swishing back and forth, Kye let his tide wash in, the rhythm he found for each battle. Wave in....wave out.....each time filling him further. Wave in...wave out. Each time the water, the Ki, would rise. In and out, he imagined, and such it was that blue light filled the air - Kye's aura. The Hermit watched on with what seemed like an impassive face as the boy grinned wider than ever. "Ready?" was his only warning before he exploded into motion like a ball of furious action. He shot forward, leading with a kick to the sternum. He knew it was a straightforward attack, but he didn't know the opponent's skill. He *assumed* it would be high - as high as his own, right? - for him to be here, but in all honesty Kye just didn't know. He hoped that the kid would be as cool as he looked - because he certainly looked cool. All Kye had was this stupid monkey's tail to distinguish himself from the rest of Earth - this guy was green! With that hopeful thought in mind, he kept straight on course, aiming not just at the Namekian, but to a space about a foot behind him.

He began to breathe heavily feeling sweat roll down his brow as he began to listen to the waves that surrounded the island trying to feel for the heart beat of the young saiyan warrior with a smile upon his face. His tail began to swish to and fro, a location, excellent. He would need to note the sound for later and as he inhaled deeply he began to wait for the moment. His heart pounding as he began to feel the energy of the battle, yes there it was a beautiful sparkling force of light. A whizz was heard as the saiyan warrior launched himself forward, he was fast, much faster than Ocarina. Folding his arms into an immediate block he took the blow and grounded his feet causing him to slide back feeling immense heat in his wrists from the impact, softly shaking. Opening his eyes slowly the namekian decided to react spinning low and attempting to sweep Kye's leg as he arched his body back as to protect his torso, raising an eyebrow a natural sign of determination appeared upon his face as he stood ready for the next attack.

Kye felt his foot land solidly against the blocking arms of Ocarina, pushing forward and feeling the resistance of his feet sliding against the sandy beach. As the kick completed, the boy dropped to his feet, finding balance as his right leg circled out, creating a small groove in the sand. Suddenly, he felt a jerk against his ankle, and realized that he'd just been swept. As his legs were pushed out from under him, he fell backward, torquing his body and bending backward. As he descended toward the beach below, he planted both hands, elbows bending as he caught himself. At the same time that tail unfurled, the young Saiyan's control of his prehensile tail allowing him to reach out and wrap around that leg. As he pushed up and out, he hoped to pull Ocarina off his feet as well by pulling him by the ankle. Whether he missed or simply was not strong enough - or he managed to pull it off - he would land back on his feet, turning another roundhouse kick at the boy. His fist would follow, and then another kick from the other side. So far, he was having fun - it would show in the slight grin on his face, and the eager twitch of every muscle.
