Genzhi [JEN/ʒee] Empty
PostSubject: Genzhi [JEN/ʒee]   Genzhi [JEN/ʒee] Icon_minitimeWed Jan 04, 2012 11:52 pm

Name: Genzhi [jen/ʒee] (ʒ = IPA symbol for “S” sound in “Vision”)
Alias: The Nomad Saiyan Mercenary or Saiyajinzhi
Age: 24
Height: 6’ 0”
Weight: 190 lbs.
Hair Colour: Black
Eye Colour: Blue

Appearance: Genzhi wears a baggy, orange, sleeveless shirt with similar cut and seaming to that of a jersey, and over it he wears a blue vest whose texture appears rather glossy or lustrous. He wears deep blue jeans held up by a black belt with silver studs and a silver buckle. His skin is a relatively dark brown. He wears black, open-fingered gloves. His tail rarely wraps around his waist the way those of most Saiyans do.

Secondary Costume (P2): Genzhi [JEN/ʒee] BlackVegeta_Pumped_by_Saiyan678
This is Genzhi's secondary outfit. He wears a blue bandanna over his head and a matching, martial arts uniform with orange versions of the gloves he wore in the other outfit. His bandanna is tied in the back, which leaves two long, blue strips of cloth - ribbons, one might say - dangling behind him. His belt is orange, and his bangs occasionally stick out from beneath his bandanna. Over this outfit, however, he usually wears a white cloak that covers his body completely from the neck down, and he takes this cloak off when he's preparing to fight.

Personality: Genzhi is a very confident fighter but not overconfident. He is a dangerously competitive person in that he refuses to lose a fight and will continue fighting even when it looks bad. If he is defeated, he always searches for he or she who defeated him to return the favor. Sometimes, this kind of behavior can override Genzhi’s logic and get him into trouble.

Genzhi views fighting as an art form, so he relishes the opportunity to display his art. He takes note of other people’s art as well and may compliment them on their fighting style’s artistic value, wherever he sees it. He enjoys matching his art against that of others and continuously looks for a challenge. If he admires another fighter, he will not show the admiration in full, but he will typically let that fighter know that he or she has earned his respect.

Genzhi’s not a very trusting person. In his line of work, time is money, and there are no other laws by which he need live. He merely wants to be hired for a job, do it, and be paid. He has little interest in other things, and just because one has employed Genzhi in the past does not automatically mean they have earned his trust. Overall, Genzhi keeps everyone at arm’s length. It isn’t that he lacks a heart, necessarily; it’s more that he refuses to allow his heart to be vulnerable.

History: Genzhi was born on New Vegeta. His mother died giving birth to him, and his father died around the same time while fighting a battle on another planet. As such, he was adopted, but it did not take long for the adoption to take place because he was born with an excellent power level for an infant; therefore, his new father had no qualms about adopting him. This adoption gave Genzhi not only a father but also a sister whose name is Saanjha and a brother whose name is Asperok.

Genzhi’s father was not really the loving type at all; in fact, he was purely interested in Genzhi’s fighting capabilities, and the same went for his real children, Asperok and Saanjha. His children had to bring honor to him, and the reason for this was the fact that he was a general in the Saiyan Army with no real elite status. This meant he had just enough authority to hunger for more, which put him on a perpetual power trip. As such, Genzhi was raised with suppressed feelings and a love for combat. Not only that, he and his siblings were mostly raised by the military as opposed to being raised by his actual father. Several fighting instructors loved Genzhi and Asperok for their admiration of their work as well as their excellent fighting spirit.

As Genzhi grew older, he and Asperok sparred with militants often. They did quite well as they consistently developed in skill and proved themselves worthy of every fight, and oddly, this was their only real training besides coming home to teach what they had learned to their baby sister, Saanjha. Eventually, his father appealed to higher officials to get his sons enlisted as soldiers—a true, Saiyan warrior; without hesitation, these higher officials obliged, equally eager to see if Genzhi would flourish with proper training. From age 16 to age 20, Genzhi worked his way up through the ranks, impressing plenty as he excelled.

At age 21, Genzhi left the military to become a mercenary, and he convinced Asperok to do the same. He was willing to fight for anyone as long as he received payment, and even more important than the Zenny was the actual combat—the art he loved. He became a nomad of sorts, leaving New Vegeta for long periods of time to fight on the behalves of other wealthy benefactors willing to purchase his services, and of course, Asperok came along with him. The two of them handled several jobs together and came to truly enjoy their work as they grew stronger and stronger.

One of their earliest jobs was working for a mutant named Core. It was a hired hit; Core paid Genzhi and Asperok to kill someone on his small planet for him because he could not do it himself. Not only that, the job required them to kill the target’s family as well. The main target turned out to be quite strong, and Genzhi himself lost the initial battle, suffering fatal wounds. Asperok retrieved his body and departed to save Genzhi's life. Due to his will to survive, an all-too-common trait among Saiyans, Genzhi lived through the experience, and Asperok took him to a local clinic where he was slowly nursed back to health in an outdated healing chamber. Genzhi’s employer found him there and was concerned; he even threatened not to pay Genzhi due to the loss until he was shocked to hear Genzhi say that it was not over. Genzhi had obviously resolved to fight the man again; moreover, the Saiyan seemed excited about it. Aperok, too, looked forward to fighting the target and wiping out his family.

The employer could not understand the bloodthirsty yearn for combat that these Saiyans possessed, but he did inquire as to why it was that Genzhi thought anything about this fight would be different, which was a question indicative of the employer’s ignorance regarding Genzhi’s race. He assumed that, perhaps, Genzhi was counting on the upcoming full moon, which on their planet occurred every two weeks, so it seemed imperative that Genzhi fight on this particular night. Unfortunately, the planet was poor—a plight for which Saiyans were ironically to blame—so their government could not afford to supply the clinics with anything even close to the newest models of healing equipment; consequently, Genzhi remained out of commission until several days after the full moon had passed. The employer was infuriated by this but also befuddled to see that this had not unnerved the young man; furthermore, Genzhi had healed much faster than he should have anyway.

Genzhi departed from the clinic as soon as he could, his medical bill paid with part of the money from his own paycheck. He found the target again in the daytime just because, in his ignorance regarding the planet, he didn’t want to risk seeing a full moon. He refused to use his Oozaru transformation just to defeat one man for two reasons: (A) the transformation was meant for large scale attacks against entire civilizations and militaries and (B) victory in that form would not prove Genzhi’s superiority. He was confident that, after having been healed, he was more powerful than his opponent this time, yet the target merely laughed at the fact that Genzhi would return rather than remaining in hiding to feign death. They fought, and needless to say, Genzhi destroyed him; a beam of ki energy was used to annihilate and even disintegrate the man. The rest of the man's family members could do nothing to stop this from happening because they were incapable of getting past Asperok who fought them all at once.

This was merely one of many examples of Genzhi’s earliest battles, but it is also an example of something else equally important. This line of work brings Genzhi to a point of rapid growth. He excels because he gains power so quickly, and he is currently becoming a very powerful fighter.
